The hotel where I’m staying is very close to the Museum of Ethnography. The subject didn’t appeal to me, so I didn’t go inside. However, the exterior of the building and their “ramp gardens” are really nice:
Well, of course, I had to go up to the top of one of the ramps. (And once I got there, my fear of heights asserted itself, but I stuck around long enough to get some pictures.) The strange part of the ramp was that the risers didn’t get any larger as I ascended. I figured out how they did it—the steps are canted slightly upward the higher you go. You aren’t aware of it until you descend, and then the tilt is much more noticeable.
Once back on the ground, I proceeded to a nearby park that has a lot of interesting attractions:

There’s a castle in the area, and that was probably the best part of my explorations.
The Museum of Fine Art
Let me be blunt: this is a tomb for dead art. The place is lit like a dungeon and is equally welcoming and charming. Definitely not worth the approx. US$18 for the entry fee. Most of this stuff is religoius art. The sculpture is much better than the paintings.
The first two of these go into the “creepy Jesus” file; the last two—well, let’s just say that my first impression is one that I don’t want to write here, but you can just imagine where I went with it. (I got two pictures because I was trying to minimize reflection from the glass pane covering the artwork.)
Then, these two by Lucas Cranch the Elder, showing couples with mismatching ages:
The Main Train Station
I then headed to the main train station area:
