London 24 July 2018
Started the day by going to the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey (but not inside either), then along the banks of the Thames. With, of course, some of the most over-photographed locations in London.
These are on a wall near the OXO building, which houses a lot of design exhibit areas.

Southbank Skate Park
This is an authorized graffitti area, and it is wonderful indeed.
The Tate Modern
Normally, I really enjoy museums a lot. The Tate is excellent, but it just didn’t do it for me. A lot of the art was from the “You call this garbage art?” school, if you ask me.
This exhibit of art commemorating protests in Paris was wonderful, however. The first one translates to: I participate / you participate / he participates / we participate / you (plural) participate/ they profit
Some paintings by Mark Rothko:
Some “white on white” works:
In most museums, you can’t use flash with your camera. There was one installation, however, where you had to use it. The room is totally dark, and when you take a picture with a flash, you see part of the room revealed. The walls have pictures of the artist with his family in Malaysia. These pictures don’t really give you a sense of how the installation really works. You only see a very brief glimpse of a portion of the room, and it’s easy to get disoriented. I really enjoyed this one!
Other works:
This installation, Babel by Cildo Meireles, consists of hundreds of analog radios, all tuned to different stations.
More Miscellaneous Photos
I also went to The Monument (to the great fire of London), and climbed to the top. The view from the top wasn’t that great, so no photos of that.

This first one is from “The Clink,” which is an old London jail that has been turned into a museum.
