Oslo 1 August 2018
Today we went to the Vigeland Park, which is “the world's largest sculpture park made by a single artist,” and it is truly amazing. The center of the park is dominated by the monolith, carved from a single piece of granite and is 14.12 meters tall. The park has a huge fountain that is fairly spectacular as well.
There are also a number of wrought iron gates:
And a sundial:
There’s a rectangular arch with some figures on the roof, it’s a bit off the main track, so there weren’t a lot of people crowding around it.
The Park
The grounds are quite beautiful, and the view from the top is very pleasant. There’s a lake with swans as well.
The Royal Palace
In the afternoon, we went to the Royal Palace grounds.
Miscellaneous Pictures
Taken at Aker Brygge and on the way back to the hotel. The last picture is near the National Theater.
