Prague–June 21, 2026

Winding down the last day in Prague. There aren’t a lot of photos today, as, to be honest, I am all touristed out.

Mucha Museum

We went to a museum featuring the work of Alphonse Mucha. We almost went to the wrong museum; there is an official museum and an unofficial one, and they are only a couple of blocks apart. (Though the other museum has a much nicer-looking web site.)

I only have a couple of pictures from there; the paintings are wonderful to look at but the lighting is set up so that they really don’t photograph well.

Poster for “La Samaritaine” with drawing of Sarah Bernhardt. She is in a robe and has long flowing blonde hair.
Painting of a small girl with pigtails. Behind her, a woman with her head in her hands.

Miscellanea

Door with white paint on glass window: Putin’s supporters no entry!
bright-colored umbrellas hanging from ceiling in a shopping center
Fountain with spout shaped like a half-human half-fish head. Above it, an oval window with arcs to segment the glass
Poster for prague with subway diagram for shoelaces on a pair of shoes. Text: All you need? Metro, tram, bus, and your feet. Someone has put yellow tape across metro, tram, bus, and the word “and”.

This is a clever advertisement that uses a subway diagram as shoelaces.

Sign saying “Ban on feeding nutria” above a photo of nutria with a red X through it.

They really are serious about this.

“Dancing House”, with strange angles to the walls and windows.

Once again, seeing the Dancing House took me totally by surprise. I looked to my left and there it was. Totally unexpected.
