Some pictures from around the hotel.

At first I thought this was a static artwork; it was windy today, and it turns out that some of the dots are suspended on wires and move with the wind (see this video)

Marina Bay/Gardens by the Bay

On a recommendation, I went to see the Gardens by the Bay. Here’s some wall art on the way there, and a view of the Singapore Flyer.

I decided to see the Flower Dome and skip the Cloud Forest, which has a tie-in with the newest Avatar movie.

Afterwards, I went to the Red Dot Design Museum. I have been to the one in Essen, Germany; this was a much smaller version. I took some pictures, but none of them particularly appeal to me. Some pictures from the area:

This is “Bag Down Benny“

And here is “Stand Up Stacey”

Here are fines for various infractions of subway rules. Apparently transporting durian doesn’t have a fine; this is probably one of Singapore’s death penalty offenses.

Miscellanea

I went to Yoshinoya for dinner; the menu here is very different from the one in the US. The chicken was delicious.

On the way back to the hotel, I saw these, as well as a dragon dance performance (video in link):

There’s an Indian temple right next to a Chinese temple. I imagine there’s some sort of joke one could make here.
