Laundry Time

I found a fairly nice (but small) laundromat near the hotel. [Memo to self: Kimberley Street and Kimberley Road are not the same. This is why you got lost five or six times trying to find the place.]

Hey, they have a bitcoin ATM. And with Elon’s picture on it, so it must be 100% legit, right?

While waiting for the laundry to finish, I wandered around the area and got these pictures of graffiti and adverts:

graffiti man in baseball cap
graffiti angry face
graffiti pixellated anime figures
stylized kangaroo head
Multiple images of polar bear in baseball cap and t-shirt of various colors, holding a bat labeled Chocolate
old style telephone receiver
Meow Boss; M has whiskers and a cat nose under it.
back alley The very model of a “Hong Kong Back Alley.”
Cartoon bull holding shovel. Text: See you soon!

M+

Most of the remaining pictures are from M+, Hong Kong’s global museum of visual culture. The first few are views inside the building and the area surrounding it.

The Letter writing Project: this installation had three places for you to write letters (standing up, sitting down, or kneeling on a pad) and put them for others to read. Yes, I wrote one, but I sealed it.

The following is Whitewash, by AiWeiWei. He dipped ancient Cheinse earthenware jars in white paint to obscure their surface decoration. Over the years, some of the paint has peeled away, revealing the original surface. “This sugggests not only that the past can never be completely whitewashed, but also that the act of whitewashing itself can become a part of history.”
