Graz–May. 11, 2025

I’m not sure if I have mentioned this before, but there’s going to be a lot of repair and update to the streetcar system this summer. Here are the details.

Also, I received this brochure in the mail, and it has the alternate bicycle routes (in blue on page one of the PDF). I decided to give it a try so that I would not have to figure it all out when the main street (Annenstraße, on the right side of the map) shuts down. Eggenberger Straße (on the left in the map) is already partially shut down for updates to the streetcar depot, so I had to figure out that section a week or so ago.

In any event, I was able to make my way on the alternate route starting at Metahofgasse, so it looks like I’ll be ready when things shut down in a couple of weeks. I suspect it will be easier to take my bicycle when the weather is good, because the alternate bus routes for lines 1 and 6 (in teal and purple on page two of the PDF) really take me out of the way. Except for when I want to go to the laundromat, which is at Griesplatz. The alternate bus service goes there, so that’s a nice bonus.
