Graz–Feb. 18, 2025

Very little new today. Walked over to the bicycle shop to buy a tire pump. (Don’t need it right now, but my friend in Köln who has a bicycle repair shop said that I should check the pressure every few weeks to make sure it’s correct.)

The place I normally go for a chicken and rice bowl is closed for the next month (owner is on vacation). So I went to a kiosk at Hauptplatz. Every time I have gotten noodles with the chicken at other places, the noodles are greasy and pretty awful. So I figured I’d go for rice; there’s no way they can screw up chicken and rice. [Narrator voice: They screwed up the chicken and rice.] The rice was sort of mushy, and the chicken was dry and stringy. That place is definitely off my list from now on. I might try May Kay’s Pots 🇦🇹 next time (they have rice as well as noodles). It’s a bit more expensive, but looks to be higher quality.

Just a few pictures today.

I just noticed this on a building that I go past nearly every day (more about that tomorrow).

Series of wall paintings showing two sun-lie symbols separated, then approaching, then nearly merged.

I did not know what this sign meant; a reverse image search tells me that it means “evacuation assembly point“.

Green sign with icon of three people. Arrows point inwards from the four corners.

Someone put the “eyes” stickers on this hydrant. I think googly eyes would be better, but this is still good.

Blue hydrant with stickers that make it look as if the hydrant has eyes.
