Graz–Jan. 19, 2025
Woke up and looked outside, and it took a couple of seconds for it to hit me: “Hey, we had a light dusting of snow last night!” What’s the big deal, you might ask. Well, it doesn’t snow much in San José, so this was very exciting to me. (Probably if it snows a lot in the next month I’ll get very tired of it, but for now it was “ooh aah!”)
So I went out and walked down to the Hauptplatz and around that area.
Remember how I mentioned there was a branch of the Sacher hotel where you could buy Sacher Torte? There’s also a branch of Manner 🇦🇹, the company that makes Manner Schnitten (wafers with hazelnut filling, as well as many other flavors). It appears that both of these stores will be closing, and it’s quite the news here in Graz. I really have to get a Sacher Torte before they close.
Some further walking around took me over the Mur river where some people were practicing some sort of paddle boarding (?). I ended up at Murinsel, an artificial island in the middle of the river.
