Frankfurt/Paris > Paris 18 Aug 09

We left Frankfurt for Paris on the TGV (high-speed train); it was going some 300 km/hr (about 185 mph) at some points. Just a couple of shots from the train; there’s only so many different landscape shots you can get.

As you can see, the architecture in Paris is very different from Frankfurt; much more “frou-frou.” These pictures are from the area near our hotel.

After we had lunch, we went to the cemetery at Montmartre. The sign says not to feed the stray cats. Quite a few famous people are buried here, including Stendahl, Louis Foucault, and Hector Berlioz.

Then we trudged up to Montmartre; the view of the city is good, though not spectacular.
