Lustbühel

Lustbühel is a hill at one of the higher altitudes in Graz, and has a very rural feel to it. It was nice to visit, and I probably would recommend to anyone who is a real nature-lover.

Claydays

Claydays is a ceramics market with vendors from all over Europe.

During the heat wave, this was on a mobile kiosk from the Martin Auer bakery: Today, not only are our chocolate rolls melting. Before we melt too, we are closing a bit earlier today. Tomorrow we will be there for you, freshly baked.

Heute schmelzen nicht nur unsere Schockoschnecken. Bevor wir das auch tun, schließen wir heute etwas früher. Morgen sind wir wieder frisch gebacken für euch da! (Drawing of smiling sun at upper right)

Translation: “The perfect dessert snack. Happiness connects.” The word „Nachspeise“ means dessert in German, and „naschen” means to snack on something. Not only is there wordplay, but the use one of the Manner wafers as the hyphen makes it even more clever.

Ad for Manner wafers. Die Perfekte Nasch-speise. The hyphen in Naschspeise is a picture of a wafer.

This is a very tiny artwork embedded in the face of Schloßberg; you can see it as you take the stairs to the Uhrturm.

Normally the caution sign does not have a vertical line through it, but this one is in front of a döner kebap restaurant, and the line makes the punctuation mark look like one of the grilling spits for the döner meat.
