I left the park and walked up Michigan Avenue. Here are a few of the skyline and building shots along the way.
I soon got to Wacker Drive, and yes, that is its name, and here’s the proof. From there, you can see a memorial to the firefighters who fought the Great Chicago Fire. The Chicago Tribune building is just across the river.
I saw a sign for a River Walk, and off I went. The last picture is not part of the “official” artwork, but it looked great.
I saw Navy Pier off in the distance, and decided “what the hell”; as long as I could see the place, I might as well go there. I crossed the river at Lake Shore Drive and walked to Navy Pier. It’s really quite the tourist trap, so I spent only enough time to get a few pictures.
On the way out, I saw these tile mosaics near the entrance.
I walked on back to Michigan Avenue, up to Water Tower Place. I rarely take pictures of people, but this woman’s costume was eye-catching, as were the rollerbladers advertising some avant-garde perfume at Macy’s.
