Today was the unveiling of Ringo Starr’s handprints in cement outside the El Cortez Hotel. Former Mayor Oscar Goodman was there with two showgirls. Here is a video of the Mayor crossing Abbey Road Crossing.
In association with the event was a “Beetles” car show:
Just north of Fremont Street are a lot of buildings with wall art on them, and they are well worth going to see (at least, when the temperature isn’t too high).
Especially stunning is this wall. If you get to Las Vegas, you really should see this in person; the detail is stunning.
This one is quite interesting; it uses paint on the original brickwork, as you can see from the close-ups.
