P'imat-Gol (p'imas-kol)

P'imat-Gol sign (2)

P'imat-Gol is a long alley running behind Chong-no 1-ga (the Korean word “ga” ka in this context means “street”.) The story has it that, in the olden days, when royalty traveled down Chong-no 1-ga, everyone had to stop whatever they were doing to bow and show respect to the royal personages. P'imat-Gol was built so that people could continue their business without interruption. Here are pictures from businesses in the P'imat-Gol area.
