Telling Time (cont.)

For times within the latter half of the hour, you use a construction similar to the English “ten minutes ’til eight,” except you give the hour first, then the word παρά, then the minutes until the hour. Thus:

Η ώρα είναι
	οκτώ παρά είκοσι πέντε
	οκτώ παρά τέταρτο οκτώ παρά δεκαπέντε
	οκτώ παρά δέκα

Although παρά is technically the correct usage, you can use και in all cases, especially when reading exact minutes from a digital clock.

IMPORTANT

Since η ώρα is feminine, you use the feminine forms for the following numbers:
